Mazhavil Manorama HD is the first television channel in Kerala to transmit its programmes completely in HD. It is the first entertainment channel in Malayalam that produces and telecasts True HD content.
HD transmission is six times clearer than the previous analogue technology. It also ensures high-quality sound that suits home theatres and high-end systems. MMTV introduced a different media culture in presentation when it launched Manorama News on August 17, 2006. Manorama News quickly grew into the most popular television news channel in Malayalam by introducing mpeg-4 technology in shooting and transmission and tape-less cameras for the first time in the country. Right from the launch of Mazhavil, the entire production has been in HD, there are many firsts to the credit of MMTV in Kerala.
